RENAISSANCE

Fui apresentada ao Renaissance por uma amiga da faculdade, Cristina Alvarenga. Obrigada Cristina, foi amor à primeira vista ou melhor à primeira audição. A voz cristalina de Annie Haslam , os arranjos orquestrais (depois substituidos por sintetizadores) ,a música de Michael  Dunford e as letras  da poetisa Betty Thatcher (convidada por ele), com influencia da música erudita fizeram dos "discos" desta banda do Reino Unido um deleite para os ouvidos mais exigentes. Hoje a Renaissance é conhecido como rock progressivo, mas há quem alegue que o rótulo de rock clássico cabe melhor a ela.

Aqui os vídeos de duas músicas do álbum "Ashes are burning" de 1973, que eu só conheci em 1979 e que ainda possuo (o LP).

Ai que saudade !

Início dos anos 70. Eu estava na pré-adolescência quando o seriado americano "A família dó ré mi" ( The Partridge family) passou aqui. Na série, esta família viajava em um ônibus, por todo o país, só tocando e se divertindo. Havia a mãe, Shirley Jones e cinco filhos. O mais velho (que na vida real era enteado dela) David Cassidy, se tornou um ídolo na época, e todas as meninas suspiravam por ele. A série terminou em 1973 e teve vários hits. Este aqui é um deles:" I woke up in love this morning". Repare nas roupas da banda. Shirley Jones cantava e David também, os outros só fingiam. Divirta-se !

Havia também um empresário muito engraçado que junto com filho do meio, um menino sardento e muito esperto, armava as maiores confusões. A filha mais velha, Susan Dey, vivia as dúvidas da adolescência.  Esta outra música se chama "On the road". Veja as fotos de toda a "família".

     Eu ia fazer outra postagem, mas soube da morte de Blake Edwards. Resolvi deixar aqui então um trecho simples e bonito de um dos filmes mais conhecidos do diretor de :
"anáguas a bordo" (operation Petticoat), com Cary Grant e Tony Curtis,
 "vício maldito" (days of wine and roses), este com uma linda abertura na voz de Frank "the voice" Sinatra,
 "a corrida do século" (the great race), com Tony Curtis e Jack Lemon juntos de novo,
"um convidado bem trapalhão" (the party) com Peter Sellers,  alguns filmes da "pantera cor-de-rosa", também com ele, e outros; muitas comédias de alguém que sofreu de depressão.
      Foi casado por 42 anos com a eterna noviça rebelde Julie Andrews que foi dirigida por ele em
" vitor ou vitória" e eis aqui o início do engraçadíssimo "The Party"
